March Madness: Roller Derby Double Header

Northwest Indiana’s roller derby team the South Shore Roller Girls (SSRG) host a double header bout.

On Saturday, March 25, 2017, SSRG continues the season with a double header at the Jean Shephard Community Center at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Dr, in Hammond, Indiana. The first bout begins at 6pm when SSRG Derailers face off against Illiana Derby Dames.

The next whistle begins the second bout at 7:30pm when the SSRG Runaways battle the Lafayette Brawlin Dolls. Doors open at 5:30pm. Tickets may be purchased at the door at $10/adult or $5/children age 6-10. Children 5 and under are admitted free of charge.

Food and drink at the concession stands will keep you fueled to continue watching the tough ladies battle it out on the track. For fans 21 years old and over, adult beverages will also be served.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Northwest Indiana Community Action. This charity works through Northwest Indiana with low income family and senior groups to ensure that they have access to basic needs. They have programs to assist women and children transition from abusive homes, provide food assistance, housing weatherization, assist with utilities and much more.
